Unique Smart Watches
Everyone is unique. Lack of self-confidence can be intimidating. How to become a confident person? In fact, just focus on yourself and improve your circle of friends.
1 Engage in positive self-talk.
Daily positive affirmations can help you build confidence. Before going to work or school, take a moment to look in the mirror and say something encouraging to yourself. You can compliment what you already have, or name a quality you wish you had. Examples of positive affirmations include:
- "I am very smart."
- "I'm a good father."
- "I've achieved many great things in my life."
- "People love being with me."
Â
2 Acknowledge and question your own negative thoughts.
Everyone has negative thoughts, but people who lack self-confidence have more negative thoughts. You can build confidence only by acknowledging and questioning the negative thoughts you have. Try to admit to yourself that you have these thoughts, and then talk about why you don't think they are right.
- For example, if the thought "I'm so stupid" pops up in your head, tell yourself, "I'm having the thought 'I'm so stupid'" and in this way let yourself know that it's just a thought. Then, replace it with a positive affirmation, such as "I'm a smart person."
Â
3 Picture yourself confidently.
Visualization can help you boost your self-confidence and is a very powerful tool. As you visualize, close your eyes and think of a time when you achieved success or felt particularly confident. Try to remember all the details of where you were, who you were with, what was said, and how you felt. "Replay" the moment in your mind to help build your confidence.
4 Write self-confidence notes to yourself.
Posting reminder notes around your home can also help boost your confidence. Write positive words to yourself on sticky notes and post them in your home, work drawer, or school locker. The more you see them, the more convinced you are of them.
- Things you can write on a sticky note include things like "You're smart," "You've got a lot of ideas," or "You're doing a great job." Use your imagination to come up with words of encouragement that you can write to yourself.
Â
5 socialize more with positive people.
Other people can have a big impact on your confidence. If you have friends who are constantly criticizing you or have a negative attitude, you should probably stop associating with them. You can also talk to them about it, and try to get them to stop saying things that undermine your confidence.
- Remember, you can't change the way other people behave, you can only change the way you respond to them. Even when people around you are negative, you should try to stay positive.
Â
6 Take care of yourself.
Exercise, healthy eating, rest and relaxation are all important to maintaining confidence. Taking care of yourself signals your brain that you deserve to be treated well. Make sure you spend enough time with your basic needs in terms of exercise, food, sleep, and relaxation.
- It is best to exercise 30 minutes a day.
- Eat balanced, healthy, natural foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.
- Get 8 hours of sleep every night.
- Dedicate 15 minutes a day to yoga, deep breathing exercises, or meditation.
